About Us
We Are Joint Venture, Inc. is an advocacy organization for sentencing parity in the criminal legal system. We seek to build a social justice movement to end extreme sentencing, excessive charging, and help us heal our communities. We aim to end the practice of life sentences for murder when the accused has not committed murder, and to release those who are currently imprisoned due to the joint venture theory.
► To show how accountability, forgiveness, compassion, and transformative learning can transform lives and communities, and spark a social change in our criminal justice system.
► To see the men and women who are sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole under the joint venture theory be resentenced and have a chance to give back to society and their communities through our core values.
► To see a society that prioritizes justice, education, accountability, and community unification. To see a criminal justice system that reflects humane sentencing, public safety, rehabilitation, and healing.
